Alejandra keeps her positive attitude despite being released

Alejandra Lara is the former Bellator’s women’s flyweight title challenger, who renewed her contract with the promotion right after her last fight. Before PFL bought Bellator, both sides worked on her return to cage. Unfortunately for the Colombian, her plans were not only put to a halt with the purchase, but ultimately led to a termination of contract. 

To be honest, Lara wasn’t surprised by the release, as she expected cuts that might come with the purchase. Still, that doesn’t change the fact, that she was disappointed with it. 

During an interview on the Hablemos MMA channel of YouTube, Alejandra said: 

“The news didn’t catch me completely by surprise. I’d thought about it and discussed it with manager. I was aware that it was possible, and that my recent record was not a deterrent. It was a huge jump in my career to begin with, and this is the chance to take it slower. Bellator wanted me to fight, and they had me waiting, but with the switch the person that now makes the decision is not the same.”

She said no one has ever contacted her from PFL. What’s worse for her, she wasn’t paid any money for her remaining fights,…
