Aljamain sterling announces his move to featherweight

Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is moving up a division to the 145-pound weight class.  “Funk Master”, who made the announcement at the Mighty Podcast with host Demetrious Johnson.  

Sterling was a bantamweight who won the title 3 times. He never missed a weight.  

“I was 180 pounds, just a bit heavier than 180.  It’s not healthy, but it is possible to get up to 180 pounds.  I feel great where I am right now. I weigh about 170 or 171, which is a healthy, good weight for me.  I’m not obese.  I have some abs.  Sterling: “I’m not sure how I have made it this far (135), and I’m not sure how I have made it for such a long time.”  

“I’ve done the testing, and my results came back showing that I’m 26.7% over the weight limit for the bantamweight class compared with all the others.”  I am able to weigh the required amount.  They can say what they want.  It’s the only way I can compete, from college wrestling to MMA.  “It’s not always easy, but I get the job done.”

“I’ve always done it.  It’s all I know and I have always won.  “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” was my motto.      

Sterling’s next fight will be in the featherweight division and wants to fight Max…
