Fourth-ranked lightweight contender Beneil Dariush (22-5-1) headlines this weekend’s UFC fight card in Austin, Texas against eighth ranked Arman Tsarukyan (20-3) and is looking for a finish.
“Tsarukyan’s young.” He’s hungry, and he’s improving all the time,” Dariush said about his opponent on Michael Bisping’s YouTube channel. “That is one of the advantages of being young. You can train a lot and be hungry. It’s a risky fight for me, because he will take his losses, and then think to himself that he is going to get better and stronger. “Beating a guy like myself is one way to prove he’s stronger.”
Dariush will enter the fight coming off a loss to former champion Charles Oliveira while Tsarukyan will enter the octagon riding a two-fight winning streak. Dariush plans to end Tsarukyan’s win streak by finishing the Georgian.
“I’m really looking forward to a finish.” Dariush stated that he had never been defeated before. “I really want him to be finished,” he said. “To pull it off, I have to go at him really hard. I must continue to apply pressure.
