Conor McGregor’s return to the Octagon has been relatively quiet since he submitted his drug tests and became eligible to compete again.
Michael Chandler was a clear favorite to welcome back ‘The Notorious.’ The former Bellator lightweight champion said that despite the lackluster progress, the fight would still happen, but it now appears to be at risk.
Conor McGregor, who was in Riyadh for the “Day of Reckoning” boxing event on Saturday, spoke to Derek Chisora in regards to what’s next. According to McGregor, he has been in constant communication with UFC about his plans to compete.
“Soon. Hopefully soon.” McGregor replied, “I’m talking” when asked to give a time frame for his return. “They are naming my opponents right now.”
McGregor, however, isn’t quite ready to give up on his boxing career. He used the microphone to demand a massive matchup with Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao who, he claimed, owes him millions of dollars.
How about I versus Manny in Saudi Arabia? What does that sound like to you? McGregor questioned Chisora. “Now wouldn’t it seem that Manny would have to catch up to my weight since it’s his sports ?…?”
