Dana White reveals UFC 299’s co-main event


Dana White, UFC’s president, took to Twitter on Monday night and announced that the UFC 299 main event would be a co-main.  

UFC 299 is held on 9 March at the Kaseya Center near Miami, Fla. The event will feature a bantamweight bout between champion Sean O’Malley against his rival Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera.  

The co-main UFC 299 event will take place in Miami on March 9th. It will feature Dustin Poirier, ranked number 3 lightweight, versus Benoit St Denis, ranked number 12.  Saint Denis has won five fights in a row, all of which were by finish before the third.  White, in an Instagram video, said that White believes he will be the next BMF of UFC. “Dustin Poirier is an absolute savage who always goes to battle,” White said.

Poirier has just lost his last bout to Justin Gaethje via a head-kick knockout.  In his 14 year career, “The Diamond”, has never lost two consecutive fights.  

White revealed that Poirier’s fight with Saint Denis will be five rounds.  Poirier’s experience in five-round fights is a great asset to UFC 299.
