Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making its return to “The Garden State” next month for the UFC 302 The event was officially announced for Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey. The headliner of the show will be a lightweight title bout between the reigning champion 155-pounder Islam Makhachev Former interim titleholder Dustin Poirier.
The UFC 302 PPV main event will feature a middleweight matchup featuring former 185-pound champ Sean Strickland One-time title challenger Paulo Costa.
“Dustin, he is a warrior, legend, he has more than everybody experience in this sport,” Makhachev recently told TMZ Sports. “But his problem is his style. That’s the one problem this guy has. The key to the fight is in wrestling and grappling. If I stick to the plan I will easily beat him. My style and Khabib’s style, it’s worst style for Dustin. People who can can take him down, hold him there, it always gives him problems.”
