Kayla Harrison: 'I'm going to draw back the GOAT and then I will be the GOAT'

Two-time Olympic Gold medalist and former PFL champion Kayla Harrison made her octagon debut at UFC 300 against former bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm.  

Harrison dominated Holm in the second round to win by submission.  Harrison’s greatest challenge was to lose weight.  Her last competition was in November when she weighed 150 pounds.  

Harrison stated that “the entire camp was afraid, not of the battle, but of the weight.” The MMA Hour.  “I was terrified.  “I haven’t been 135 pounds in 16 years.”

“I gambled on this despite losing millions of dollars in money that was almost guaranteed.  Harrison said, “To gamble is to take a risk.”  This was my dream.  It’s the reason why I got into MMA. So let’s get started.  Let’s go, but I am all in.  I wasn’t certain if i would make it.  It’s hard to believe that I managed to gain weight.  

Harrison is looking forward to a title fight after her weight loss and debut victory.  Holm entered UFC 300 as the fifth-ranked fighter.  Harrison was a contender from the moment he won, especially since it was so one-sided. 

“I want my title next,” Harrison said in her post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.  “That’s the reason I came to this country.  It’s just one thing, and I don’t mind if it is Raquel.
