Carrillo won back-to-back fights in the ONE Friday Fights Series, including a TKO victory over Muangthai PK Saenchai in the second round. The 25-year old knows that he’s getting closer to being a title challenger and a victory over Nong O will solidify this status. He believes that the stars are aligned in his favor to allow him to shine before the world.
“I was obviously absolutely buzzing when they came to me with Nong-O, I thought they would maybe give me Saemapetch [Fairtex] You can also find out more about [Felipe] Lobo first. This fight and then another one before the title bout, but I was obviously excited to face Nong-O. Especially after him coming off such a bad knockout at his age, I just don’t feel like he can recover from that so well, so it’s probably the best time to fight him. Then it’s off to be champion next year,” Carrillo told ONE.
