The news broke on Monday that the Professional Fighters League (PFL) had acquired Bellator MMA, including the roster and staff. Second-ranked Bellator bantamweight Rafeon Stots (20-2) reacted to the news on Tuesday.
Stots believes that new owners will make bantamweight a priority.
“I heard along with you guys. My thoughts were surprised. I am happy because the PFL does a lot of great things. I am excited. This opens up a lot of possibilities for everyone involved. I’m excited. I don’t know what that means, but I’m excited,” Stots told James Lynch on Cris Cyborg’s YouTube Channel.
“It sounded like the usual business, and that PFL held a bantamweight championship. Just like it wasn’t an expensive tournament. Bantamweights are a very stacked division in all promotions around the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t consider us a major factor for the sale or future plans. I am excited. After my Bellator 301 fight, I thanked everyone at Bellator for I did not know if I would see anyone from the Bellator production team or staff.
