Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat chimaev headlines the first UFC in Saudi Arabia

The UFC will be in Saudi Arabia.  First time ever, the fight promotion is hosting an event in Kingdom Arena Riyadh.  The event is a “Fight Night” card, and the main attraction will be the middleweight fight between former champion Robert Whittaker vs Khamzat Chmaev.  

Dana White, UFC CEO, announced the news on social media.  “BOOOOOOM!!!!!! White said in a post on YouTube that UFC will be heading to Saudi Arabia, for the first-time with a “BAD ASS” card. The main event is @robwhittakermma against @khamzat_chimaev.  

What’s going on guys?  Another announcement.  “On Saturday, 22nd June, we will be heading to Saudi Arabia”, White announced in the video.  “Our fight will take place in the Kingdom as a Fight Night which will be broadcast live and for free on ABC.  The main event is between former middleweight champ Robert Whittaker and 13-0 undefeated Khamzat Chmaev, to determine who will be No. The UFC Middleweight Championship is a highly competitive event.

White announced that the co-main bout as well as a few other bouts would be included in the fight card.  

The co-main event is the No. “The co-main event, the No. 6 ranked Alexander Volkov.  Kelvin Gastelum and Daniel Rodriguez will also be fighting.  We’ve got Johnny Walker versus Volkan Oezdemir,”…
