Former two-time women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas headlined Saturday’s UFC Vegas 89 event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas against eighth-ranked Amanda Ribas.
Namajunas was coming off of two losses in a row and wanted to win her first fight at her new weight class. She won unanimously. Following the fight, Namajunas was interviewed by fighter-turned broadcaster Paul Felder inside the octagon.
Namajunas stated that it was good to have his hand raised after the fight. Namajunas’s debut will be in the Top 10 of the 125-pound rankings with the victory.

Manon Fiorot ranked third in the flyweight division when Namajunas debuted at her weight class last September. She lost unanimously but learned the skills needed to be successful at a new weight class.
She would love to rematch Fiorot or fight against a few other top-ranked opponents.
