Sean Strickland, who won the middleweight title in September, will defend it for the first ever time at the first pay-per view of 2024.
It seems that both Dricus du Plesis and the 185lbs King couldn’t hold back when they met each other in the octagon on January 20 at UFC 297.
Both middleweights were involved in an all-out brawl while in attendance at UFC 296 on Saturday, with security being forced to step in and separate the pair. Strickland vs Du Plessis’s fight was an obvious talking point, and both stars broke their silence.
The events of the past few days have given ‘Stillknocks,’ a new sense of confidence. The 29-year old said that the champion lacked power in his punches, and security won’t be able to save him this time.
Du Plessis stated, “Now I get why you have such a high 33% completion rate. You hit like a woman,” after the altercation at the weekend. “Also, [on] “20 Jan, I will be on top of the world and there won’t even be security to save you life.”
