UFC 296 – Staff Picks: Edwards vs. Covington Main Event

UFC 296 Edwards vs. Covington was the final UFC event and PPV of 2023.

Colby Covington, the controversial Colby Covington, did his best to sell the fight between Leon Edwards and the welterweight champion. That included a reference to the British star’s murdered father, with Covington suggesting he’d see him in hell when he dragged Leon there. Classy.

Covington is not everyone’s cup of tea. Leon Edwards is not one of them. Brandon Royval is a nice guy and a good fighter. He can also finish his fights on the floor or, as he showed in his last match, on the feet. In Alexandre Pantoja who won gold earlier this year from Brandon Moreno, Royval had to not only win, but beat a man he had beaten soundly before.

The results are in. It’s all come down to this final week in our staff pool. Below, we’ve ranked our predictions for UFC 296.
