We say goodbye to one the UFC pioneers on a very emotional day.

UFC has been in business for 31 years and during that time it has attracted many stars. The news that a fighter has passed away is always sad for fans, but it’s even worse when it happens to a former rival.

Art Jimmerson, 60, was the age of his death when it was announced. Jimmerson was well known for competing at the inaugral UFC 1 event, where he sported a single boxing glove on his left hand–ultimately earning him the nickname ‘One Glove’.

Jimmerson had been a well-respected boxer since 1983, and was the National Golden Gloves Middleweight Champion. The Missouri native stepped into the ring to fight for the last time in 2002 after having won 33 out of his 51 matches.

Art Jimmerson, who had a 15-fight winning streak, would be forever etched in history on November 12, 1993 when he competed in UFC 1.
